IGBO LEADER, DR UZOR ORJI KALU’S TIRELESS FIGHT FOR JUSTICE AND EQUITY PAYS OFF AS HE WINS 2013 ADVOCACY AWARD IN AMERICA

MILESTONE FOR UZOR KALU

REPORT BY CERUTTI OSAGIE

The English poet and philosopher, Sir Arthur Hugh was apt and most categorical on his stand on  the great fight of life when he divulged: ‘’ It is better to have fought and lost, than never to have fought at all’’
That quote can be used today to paint the picture of former Nigeria governor, sport buff, freedom fighter and social crusader, talking of the onetime Governor OF Abia State and Coordinator of Njiko Igbo,Dr Orji Uzor Kalu

Dr Kalu, astute politician, bridge-builder, International business mogul, publisher, sports aficionado have fought many battles all his life; from fighting his people course, to making case for the abandoned and ever on ground to comment on National and International issues, his recent fight over the deportation of a few Igbos from Lagos and the neglect of Blessing Okagbare is a case study

Now, as if the walls indeed have ears, all his fight now seems to have gotten a historic reward when last night in far away United States of America he was conferred with the prestigious 2013 advocacy for Justice AWAARD by the renown Ndi-Igbo in Diaspora , known to be operating globally under the aegis of PAN NDI-IGBO Foundation, USA, Inc
In a statement made available to CERUTTI MEDIA GROUP and signed by Messrs Geoffrey Nzeadibe and Felix Okereke, it revealed that Dr Kalu is being honored for his giant stride and laudable contribution to the cause of Ndi Igbo in particular and Nigerians in general

THIS IS NO DOUBT ANOTHER MILESTONE IN LIFE OF DR KALU

SENATOR ANDY UBA WINS PDP ANAMBRA PRIMARIES..BUT BIG SHAME ON PDP IMMACULATE IMAGE

SENATOR (DR) ANDY UBA WINS PRESTIGIOUS PDP ANAMBRA GUBERNATORIAL PARTY TICKET WITH OVERWHELMING 645 TO EMMA ANOSIKE’S 110 VOTES
*But Shame on Nigeria’s Nascent Democracy as factional group announce another candidate in parallel primaries
*PDP must get her act together
*Governor Shema, Dankwambo (election supervisors) must clear the air or risk attack on PDP integrity

EXCLUSIVE ANALYSES BY CHIEF CERUTTI OSAGIE

Still basking in the wild euphoria that greeted his ten pint strong letter of protest to Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Fashola (SAN) where he stoutly defended the constitutional right of his Igbo people, Senator (Dr) Andy Uba OFR is in the news again
This time not a means of another protest run, but rather a first step toward actualizing his dream of emerging as the next Governor of the giant of eastern state, Anambra
It will be recall that not so long ago, the Senator exclusively told CERUTTI MEDIA GROUP political unit via telephone that: ‘’ I have a contract with the people of Anambra state, they voted me in 2007 and I pledged then that I will transform the state infrastructural, on that vow I still maintain, it is a contract between me and my people, they know who they want as leader, and the leader know them’’ was The Senators reaction to us

Now as faith will have it, only last night, Senator Uba successfully emerged as the peoples candidate to carry the prestigious PDP ticket in the 2014 gubernatorial race, already globally rated as expected to be one of the most feisty contested political battle
In the keenly contested primaries, that featured several heavyweight political juggernauts, Senator Uba, the former presidential domestic adviser, polled 654 votes with a large margin distance of second place Prince Emma Anosike who got 110 votes, the third place went to Jerry Ugwoke with 86 votes, Patrick Ugbomah 89;Mike Okoye 17 votes and MRS Josephine Anenih 3 votes, Walter Okeke 2 votes and Tony Nwoye 1 votes

These result was announced by no less a personality than the NATIONALLY ASSIGNED Returning officer, Dr KENNETH Eremuoh and supervised by a delegation from headquarters led by Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina state, and his Gombe counterpart, Alhaji Dankwabo alongside Senator Ndoma Egba
Now with such a crack team of electioneering monitoring committee made of such stern Governors, why must PDP allow media reports to filter this morning that former student leader prince Tony Nwoye is also a factional winner in a different primaries, after a lot of financial and human resources have been expanded in the originally accredited primaries that Dr Uba won?
This is most pathetic and political watchers and the part hierarchy must put their act together, this is slap to our nascent democracy, the factional primaries must be discarded and astute Politian like Governor Shema and Dankwabo both of who had a very crucial meeting with the Anambra Commissioner of Police, Balla Nassarawa, before the major primaries, must speak up that it is only one primary that is recognized and that is the ONE the national body ordered them to come and monitor
Meanwhile with the emergence of Senator Uba as PDP primaries winner, it is no doubt a wakeup call that Igbos as a whole, especially of Anambra state to come under one umbrella to support senator Uba aspiration
According to vast majority of people spoke to, Uba remains a most charismatic leader that is often want to fight his people case and war, with his strong international clout and dream to industrialize the state, no doubt the people of the state now have their destiny in their hands

OKAGBARE: LACK OF NATIONAL HONOUR FOR THE ATHLETICS PRIDE OF THE CONTINENT MAY FORCE DR ORJI UZOR KALU ON ONE MAN PROTEST MARCH TO PRESIDENCY

Utter what you wish to say of him, but one of Africa’s frontline pillars of sport, Chief Dr Uzor Orji Kalu remains one of the Country’s forthright and fearless speaker when it comes to sundry national issues-be it economical, politics or sports
Not known to call a spade by a marines name, the former Governor of Abia state and the first Governor  to lead any team to break the jinx that haunted Nigeria for many years where the CAF Champion’s league is concerned, when he took ENYIMBA to win the trophy twice, is now fighting a new sports battle
This time, not in area of soccer, but in athletics, where the Igbo leader has vowed to stage a one man protest match to the presidency if honor is not giving to whom honor is due

Dr Kalu in  loud protest wants Nigerian Government to do the right thing by honoring one of the Country’s best sporting ambassador, the medal merchant, Blessing Okagbare, who shone like millions stars at the last world athletic championship
Thunders Kalu: ‘I feel for Okagbare. Never  in our history did anyone single handedly win all the Country’s medal in a senior global completion, Okagbare achieved that in Moscow, yet nobody is planning a Presidential reception for the great pride of Africa
‘I know this Government is gender friendly and sensitive, I am ready to march to the office of the First lady to make my case for Okagbare, we can all re call vividly that the last time Nigeria went for a big completion in Moscow, that was tagged the disastrous Moscow 1980 Olympics, our best was a sad seventh in the men’s 4 x 100 relay, where the quartet of Hameed Adio,Kayode Elegbede,Samson Oyeledun and Peter Okodogbe made it to the final, that year the Americans, the Britain’s and West Germany where all absent, yet we won no medal, this year they all came and Blessing did the impossible by winning two medals’ It is only logical for her to get Presidential handshake’’ DR Kalu charged

TOP BRAND EXCLUSIVE BY CZAR OF LETTERS, OSAGIE CERUTTI

One of Africa’s most naturally beauty queen and reigning Miss Eko, Lagos,Princess,Grace Ekeoma Oluoha may not be your   run of the mill conventional beauty and no Christ egg head

Was it not the great wordsmith, Freya Stark who once mussed that: ‘the world love those who give to life with humility and who accept with ease of humility’’
I have always spoken in superlatives about the humble nature of one of Africa’s best talent in music, 2FACE NDIBIA, not because he is my childhood friend, but because he has no chip on his shoulder, as big a brand as Ndibia, he sees mere mortals and he kneels down to pay homage-that is Christ like
In the make believe glamor world of make believe, not many have such humble state of mind, many are peacock in human skin, and that may be their funeral
Not so long ago, we came across a most humble queen in person of Grace Ekeoma Oluoha, the current queen of Lagos. Looking angelic in  her white surplice. On first ever encounter, she was bowed down her head with a crown on to greet d Cerutti, this is rare for queens to have such trait, I said to myself
Few days later, over light dinner at Ikoyi Southern Sun, we sat to talk, and few hours after, I concluded that definitely it was not just luck or her beauty that made her beauty queen or what she is today, it is combination of God on her side and her hard graft
Back home to knock the piece together, it was no tea party, my task was rather like putting together some intricate jigsaw puzzle, because Christ name is involve here, that is the biggest name on earth
EARLY LIFE
Grace was born from a very deep and religious Christian family of seven and she is the 5th child. She   was quick to add that even though she is from the eastern part of Nigeria she sees herself as a true Lagosian
‘’Sure I  was born and bred in Lagos, I have lived all my life here, so I do not consider myself an outsider, am true and total Lagosian’’ she insisted
With her primary and secondary school in Marjos International primary school and Marjos Internationals college, both  in  Lagos, she eventually proceeded to the Nigeria Institute of Journalism(NIJ) in a bid to satisfy her age long media passion, with a special bent  in broadcast journalism
BORN TO BE A QUEEN?
It may not be wrong to depict that Grace is a young lady born to be a queen for all her life she had on hand to emerge one form of beauty queen or the other. Before leaving Marjos she had won a beauty crown, when she enrolled into NIJ her focus was totally was on her journalism career, many that saw her grace motivated her to try her hand in the schools’ beauty pageant and that was exactly what she did along the line
In 2010 she got admitted to the premier journalism school in Nigeria, a year later she emerged as MISS NIJ, in 2011, the following year that victory in her school led her to vie for the highly sought after Miss Eko in 2012 which she eventually won

Grace Ekeoma

HARD ROAD TO BEING MISS EKO
On road to the event grand finale, the young queen admitted that the advice her father always gave them while growing up always reverberated in her subconscious
‘’ He will call us  and say to win in life is not a joke, he will tell us that we must aim to have push and go to get ahead, he will tell us life is all about lots of sacrifice , dedication to duty and hard work with trust in God
‘’So adding all this together, I decided that to go far in a competition like Miss Eko, I must do the extraordinary, so in camp few days to the grand finale, I prayed and fasted for 2 full days, 6 am to 6 p.m  and diligently prayed to God to crown y effort with victory, at the end of the day I was not in shock that I won, I have expected it but I must confessed it was not just my beauty that did it for me, the grace and hand of God what made me winner above all the others stunning beauties’ ‘she admitted
She also had another motivation, she posited that the way style siren Agbami Darego outclassed all the other beauty in the world to be world best what also moved her, I watched how she spoke for many weeks, Agbami is a rare beauty, I LOVE her a lot and learn a few couple of tricks from her, am not shy to say she is one of my inspirations in the beauty world’’
MASSIVE CHARITY PROJECTS IN VIEW

For her, she prays that her life or reign will not end as just beauty and  all talk with not touching lives of the  needy. She was empathic about her mission as queen
‘’My key target is in children between ages 0-12, I want to wipe out tears in their eyes and help those that are from disadvantaged home to be able to get better education, and as God will have it, I have started on good note with Mrs. Margaret Ibru already coming to m e aid with sponsorship fund where we are already taking care of the educational dream of a few disadvantaged student, I WILL forever live to be indebted to Mrs. Ibru
Apart from the scholarship drive, Grace also has a novel ambition,’’ I love to de-worm little children, this is an area that is very slow in Africa, de-worming of little children should be a basic necessity in Africa but it is lacking, we de-worm little children we are helping them have clear sense of living and make them more healthy, I hope our corporate world will help me in this area ’’she appealed passionately
PASSION, AWAY FROM BEAUTY WORLD
Well who one earth live a life with no passion?
Her case was rare one, apart from her love for reading, she also loves to dance. ‘’I can dance the whole day as I can sing, but dancing is my life, unfortunately when I say dancing, I mean simply dancing for Christ, I do not go to club or conventional night parties, I do all my dancing in church’’ she laughed aloud
As to her beauty secret, she admitted not having any, insisting that God is her only beauty secret, but her best designer label i.e  GREAT GRACE COLLECTION, her own clothing line which she runs by herself and on her own making all her outfit herself, that again I find very strange, but she e was quick to warn that there is nothing strange there, ‘’I have Christ , he has giving me all the potential I need to rule the world, so why wait in the dark?’’
As her final word on road, she simply postulated that’’ I thank God for giving me grace, I thank my family for being there for me and chief off all I thank my pastor Poju Oyemade, bosses Femi Odutuga,Mr Michael  and Mr Abiodun, I am also grateful to Mrs. Ibru for all her support to the less privilege children, in all we do, once we have fear of the lord we will triumph beyond our expectations’’
