Speaking on the vision of the event, Abiola Afolabi , the brain behind it stated that :The African Gala Nite & African Icon International Awards 2013 taking place in Chicago USA this summer, will serve a multicultural purpose as it will be a Celebrity Exchange Program to showcase outstanding Nigerian-African Achievers and Icons which will further celebrate African People in positive limelight, against the backdrop of the social stigmatization which some African visitors abroad and other Africans in the Diaspora face owing to the media account on Africa that is faced with so much ills and vices such as Corruption, Hunger, Poverty, HIV/AIDS, Prostitution,Crime, Kidnapping Etc.The 2013 USA Celebrity Expedition so far described will play a pivotal role in developing this second phase of our plan to feat a set of Nigerians and Africans living in the diaspora back home for an inbound socio-cultural exchange program in the coming year on a citizens exchange program to Nigeria and other parts of Africa.
